This is a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon and 23% Syrah from the Ambassador vineyards at Red Mountain that rests for 22 months in close to 100% French oak. The aromas offer notes of blackberry, black currant, dried herbs, mountain sage, powdered baking chocolate, and scorched earth. Black plum, ground espresso beans, and cassis flavors are also present. It is still young and chewy and needs a few years of bottle age to really open up. It lingers on the dark-fruit finish, despite the elevated levels of tannin. Best after 2024 or with a very heavy decant and then enjoy this one over the next 15 years. 325 cases produced.
