Checking in at 99% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, this Component Collection Malbec is aged in 100% new French oak for 22 months. Everything about this Malbec is stunning from the medium to dark inky purple core with a neon rim, to the bright and fresh notes of blackberry preserve, ripe plum, purple wildflower, cinnamon toast, salmonberry, toasted dried bay leaf, pencil shavings, and sweet tobacco leaf. Medium-plus acidity, and chalky tannins lead to an earthy, white pepper, and black-fruit-driven finish. One of my favorite Malbecs from Washington in 2019. Only 200 cases were made. Best in 2023 and then enjoy over the next decade or more. Editors Choice.
