UPCHURCH VINEYARD Merlot, Red Mountain ‘UV Counterpart’ 2019

A lovely dark red cherry core with a light-cranberry rim. This right-bank Bordeaux-styled red blend that is a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, is aged in 90% new French oak for 20 months. A spectacular nose that boasts aromas of black cherry, blue plum, macerated raspberry, vanilla bean, dried mountain sage, and ground toasty cinnamon. Mouthwatering acidity, medium to high tannins, and a lengthy red and blue fruit finish complete this stunning wine. Still needs a year or two in bottle to come together, but when it does, this wine is going to be spectacular. Only 360 cases produced.
