Celebrating the 10th vintage of this Red Mountain Cabernet from winemaker Chris Upchurch. A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot from the Upchurch estate on Red Mountain that is brought up in 80% new French oak for 20 months.Deep garnet-purple in color, it explodes out of the glass with joyous notes of brambly fruit, black currant, toasted anise seed, wild mountain sage, crushed pink peppercorn, tobacco leaf, a hint of baking chocolate, sweet vanilla, and fragrant wafts of wet forest moss. Acid is high as are the chalky tannins - plush, round, and present. Very well balanced with no rough edges, it flows effortlessly across the palate. 475 cases were produced. Best in 2024.
