BEVAN CELLARS Proprietary Red, Sugarloaf Mountain 2012

The Bevan Cellars Sugarloaf Mountain Proprietary Red is an exceptional effort from Russell Bevan in 2012. It is a 50/50 blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot which immediately opens up with seductive aromas of ripe dark fruits, cassis, anise, mocha, sweet spices, violets, toasted notes and a lovely underlying mineral character. This rich, full-bodied, voluptuous red is impressive for its incredible depth and concentration, yet it remains in balance al the way through the plush, layered finish. A completely compelling wine that is not only absolutely delicious, but capable of lasting decades as well. (Best 2015-2030) - November, 2014 (JD)
