The 2009 Cardinale is an utterly captivating wine from Chris Carpenter. Exotic, layered and stunning, this is an incredible blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon with the remainder Merlot. Having an extremely deep hue, this opens with sensational aromatics of blackberry cobbler, hoisin sauce, mocha all coming together beautifully in the glass. The texture is rich and opulent, backed by mouthwatering acidity to add lovely balance. Flavors of crème de cassis, Black tea, mocha continue to impress as the exceedingly long finish dazzles. While nothing short of impressive now, this is still relatively young and should without doubt have a tremendous future ahead.
