My favorite of the Moonbase tasting. A 100% Syrah, that is fermented with 25% whole cluster and aged for 18 months in neutral French oak barrels, you immediately get that funky The Rocks Syrah nose with incredible aromas of fresh blackberry, pink grapefruit zest, braised beef ribs, black olive, and toasted ground white pepper, all making themselves known. The acidity is spot on, as are the round sweet tannins. I loved the savory and meaty finish. Age this one for a decade or more.
