SAVIAH CELLARS Cabernet Sauvignon, The Rocks District ‘The Funk’ 2019

Aged for 17 months in 100% new French oak barrels this 100% Cabernet from The Rocks Funk Vineyard displays a dark purple core with a red brick rim in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, fruit-driven, round, and meaty. You get the same types of Syrah characteristics that you typically see in the area - gamey and meaty, black pepper, and lovely blackberry and cassis tones. It delivers a touch of fresh black fruit on the finish, which gives it a lovely sweetness over the tongue. Drink now or over the next 6 years or so. A small production of only 93 cases was produced.
