EVENING LAND Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills ‘La Source’ 2021

Resting seven months in barrel, with 50% being new French oak puncheons, the La Source Pinot Noir is another stunning example of an Oregon Pinot Noir from the team at Evening Land. After a very difficult 2020 vintage, it’s wonderful to see wines like this on the follow-up vintage come to market. Boasting aromas and flavors of crushed boysenberry, wild huckleberry, macerated strawberry, cedary herbs, tart lemon zest, crushed purple rose petals, brown mushroom powder, and potpourri - it’s a very complex and interesting wine that I adored. The palate is silky smooth with no rough edges to be found, giving ample acidity, rounded silky tannins, and a broad and medium body mouthfeel. One of the better 2021 Pinot Noirs that I have experienced so far. Highly recommended.
