The 2016 'The Contender' Syrah wine has 4% Marsanne blended in. The nose is highly seductive with beautiful white flowers, lychee with black tea, orange zest and milk chocolate. as the aromatic range is simply incredible. The palate shows really wonderful complexity, with wonderful tension and verve. Milk chocolate, black tea, sagebrush, wet stone and smoked meat flavors continue to build on the palate as a citrus character marks the outstanding finsih. This is another beautiful wine from Matt Reynvaan which should age remarkably well.
