A stunning 100% Syrah that spends 18 months in 20% new French oak and is fermented with 30% whole cluster. The alcohol is a bit elevated at almost 15% but you don’t feel it. Wonderful Washington Syrah characteristics abound on the nose - blueberries, black cherry, boysenberry deliver the fruit while aromas of peppered meats, black olive, dried violet and cracked peppercorn finish the wine. Fruit is dominant at first blush on the palate, but the savory and earthy characteristics take over. Ample acidity and silky tannins bring a lovely balance and richness to the savory components. This is a wonderful Syrah. Only 242 cases produced.
