The 2018 Walla Walla Vintners Merlot is outstanding, with a concentrated rich style and classic notes of black raspberry, boysenberry, dark chocolate, cigar and scorched fresh dill. It is composed of 86% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot and spends 18 months in 40% new French oak and also 10% new American oak. It’s deep, medium to full-bodied, has beautiful red and dark fruit components and delivers a fantastic finish. It’s ready to drink now or over the next 6-7 years.
