The Walla Walla Valley Cabernet from Moonbase is aged for 18 months in 25% new French oak. Starting off with a pretty nose of deep, rich, dark fruit on the nose - freshly picked blackberry and vanilla bean are prominent while the palate explores flavors of just-baked blueberry pie, iron ore, and dried thyme. Acidity checks in at the medium range and the tannins are present but already integrated. I just wish the finish lasted just a bit longer. 144 cases produced.
