A blend of 97% Syrah and co-fermented with 3% Viognier to give it some floral lift on the nose, it rests for 17 months in 40% new French oak puncheons, barrels, and foudre and sees 84% whole cluster during fermentation. Displaying a deep ruby core with a neon pink rim in the glass, it opens to somewhat muted notes of fresh boysenberry, black raspberry, potpourri, toasted black peppercorn, cedary herbs, and tilled earth. A wine with impeccable balance, structure, and finesse, enjoy this one for another decade or more. Just 289 cases made.
