PAMBRUN Red Wine, Walla Walla Valley ‘Chrysologue’ 2019

This blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Malbec, 17% Cabernet Franc, and 9% Merlot is rich and brooding on the nose, as well as on the palate, with notes of cassis, black currant, black plum, licorice root, leather, mint, and cedary herbs. Acidity is on the medium to high side, with big crunchy tannin and a baked black fruit and earthy finish. It spends about 17 months on 70% new French oak barrels, which gives it those oak spice and leather characteristics. Better in 2023. 625 cases made.
