The 2020 Sangiovese from WWV rests for 16 months in 15% new French oak and displays brickish purple in the glass with a blueberry-colored rim. Aromas of dried red cherry, purple rose petal, dried sage, parmesan cheese rind, and dusty earth explode from the glass. The palate expresses elevated acidity, chalky tannins, and a sweet black cherry and cedary herb finish that lasts for minutes. 1200 cases made.
