The 2020 Estate Walla Walla Syrah from Force Majeure displays a deep purple and garnet core with a light neon red rim in the glass. It’s from the Rocks District but doesn’t have that typical “Rocks” funk that you would typically expect - and I’m sure some people would appreciate this because wines from the Rocks can be very polarizing. It boasts gobs of black cherry, wet-tilled earth, ground black pepper, smoked brisket, and crushed olive tones alongside ripe crunchy tannins, ideal acidity, and an earthy, complex finish that goes on for ages. This is another winner from Force Majeure and one that I recommend everyone to try. Editor’s Choice.
