CAYUSE Cabernet Franc, Walla Walla Valley ‘Wallah Wallah Special #7’ 2014

Aged for 18 months in entirely neutral French oak, the 2014 Wallah Wallah Special #7 Cabernet Franc from Cayuse is an extraordinarily limited production with only 137 Magnums produced. A wonderful deep garnet and purple core with a brickish rim in the glass, this Cabernet Franc gifts enticing notes of black and blue plum, Italian pancetta, crushed peppercorn, and a hint of old leather. I love the complexity and focus of this wine. It’s a decade old but still fresh and nuanced on the palate. Finishing long with a sea breeze component that hits the mid-palate. This will be a very hard wine to find in the wild.
