SEVEN HILLS Cabernet Sauvignon, Seven Hills Vineyard 2013

The blocks for this wine were first planted in 1980, as this is some of the oldest vine Cabernet in the state. The Cabernet opens with aromatics of red currant, red bell pepper, anise and crème de cassis, which all come together and soar from the glass. On the palate there are beautifully concentrated flavors of red cherry, cassis and anise with hints of milk chocolate. This medium weight Cabernet already shows lovely characteristics and I only expect this to evolve further in bottle over the next decade. (Best 2016-2027) - August, 2016 (OB)
