The 2014 'John Lewis Reserve' by Gramercy Cellars is a bit of a slumbering giant at this juncture. This outstanding wine was sourced from the Minick, Forgotten Hills and Red Willow Vineyards. At the moment this requires extended air contact before it begins to release its intoxicating aromatics of black fruits, black tea, green peppercorn, anise and sagebrush with wet gravel. Seductive and showing wonderful range, the wine has mouthwatering flavors of green olive tapenade, black tea, black cherry syrup and blackberry jam with orange zest. The minerality is top notch, along with the combination of black fruits and citrus nuances, which make this impossible to resist now, however this also shows plenty of potential to age and allowing this some additional time will certainly pay off.
