CAYUSE VINEYARDS Red Wine 'Flying Pig' 2014

The 2014 'Flying Pig' is a blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, which Christophe Baron mentioned has been added to create the backbone to the wine. The wine was aged for 8 months in 30% new French oak prior to bottling. The result is a wine with inviting aromatics of dark cherries, boysenberry, barn floor, umami and black tea. The weight and texture of this wine is marvelous as this showcases a beautifully structured core, focused around concentrated flavors of blackberry cobbler, milk chocolate, roasted figs and black cherry preserves unlined by gorgeous minerality. Overall, this outstanding blend should be accessible upon release as well as offer a decade of drinking pleasure ahead. (Best 2017-2027) - August, 2017 (OB)
