KONTOS Red Wine 'Alatus' 2014

The 'Alatus' is named after the famed sailboat that the Kontos brothers’ grandfather owned. The wine is a proprietary blend that is Cabernet and Merlot dominant. The 2014 blend is composed of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot and 17% Malbec. This gorgeous wine begins with crème de cassis, anise, blackberry cobbler and black olive aromas. The wine has marvelous tension and poise showing a flavor profile of black tea, Asian spice, leather and crème de cassis with coffee grounds. Layered and polished this is an absolutely delicious wine.
