This small production of 100% Syrah coming from the Umpqua Valley is a beauty in the glass with deep ruby tones. The wine is aged 11 months in French and American oak. Black fruits spill from the glass followed by herbs de provence and salumi. Explosive rich dark fruit flavors jump out on the palate, pepper, toasted cedar, and medium sweet tannins. For a warmer vintage, the alcohol is lower than I would have expected at 13.4% giving it a great balance of fruit and fresh acidity. Enjoy this one over the next 5 years. Only 48 cases were produced.
