SUNU Pinot Noir, Oregon ‘Saffron Fields’ 2019

33% whole cluster was used during fermentation and then aged for 16 months in 25% new French oak barrels, this fruit comes from the Yamhill Carlton AVA and brings fantastic characteristics of spiced blue plums, fresh mountain huckleberry, crushed cinnamon stick, forest moss, and blood orange pith. Ample acidity and silky tannins form the backbone of the wine, it finishes with a rounded element across the palate. A scant 45 cases were produced of this Pinot Noir. Better in 2023.
