With a composition of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2019 Damsel Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon ‘The Furies’ is a wine that starts out shy and reserved before revealing its exceptional beauty. Spending 18 months in 60% new French oak, this deep purple wine gives off aromas of black cherry and oak. Medium bodied, it has some slight heat early while showing off plum, black raspberry, bakers' chocolate and licorice root. With a fine and dense tannic structure, it really starts coming out of its shell and flirting with you with some extended time in the glass. Black cherry, tobacco, and chicory show mid-palate in a more rounded and settled way. The Cabernet Franc reveals itself on the finish with a creamy espresso note. Those with the patience to lay this wine down for a few years of cellaring will be rewarded with 15+ years of drinking enjoyment.
