The 2016 'La Source' Pinot Noir is yet another absolutely sensational wine from Evening Land. This Pinot Noir was sourced from a block of vines located at the top of of Seven Springs Vineyard, where elevations reach 700 feet and consist of rocky soils and stressful growing conditions. This environment forces the Dijon clones to struggle, resulting in small berries and tight clusters. The fruit from the La Source Block spent 12 Months in 25% New French Oak. The wine itself begins with gorgeous aromatics of fresh raspberries and wild berries which are woven together with exotic spices, floral, eucalyptus, forest floor and crushed stones. On the palate this is sophisticated and classy, with remarkable focus and concentration. Beautifully balanced and displaying remarkable purity and finesse, this continues to impress through the gorgeous silky finish. While La Source is already striking in its youth, it will ultimately go on to age gracefully for quite some time.
