The 2014 ‘Mahtaub’ underwent whole cluster fermentation prior to being aged for 23 months in 40% new French oak. The nose is quite pungent with sour red fruits and cinnamon sticks that combine with peat moss aromatics in the glass. The mouthfeel is seriously good as sour cherry, pomegranate seed and tobacco all mingle nicely with minerals. The generous, red fruit and mineral-driven finish lingers beautifully.
