The 2017 Eileen Vineyard is another absolutely gorgeous wine made by the talented Steve Doerner of Cristom Vineyards. It instantly begins to impress with its funky and earthy characteristics, which compliment the pretty dark cherry, wild strawberry aromatics. The palate elicits wonderful balance and tension, with flavors of black tea, exotic spices, wet stone and white truffle shavings all taking shape. The 2017 is showing plenty upfront appeal in its youth, however it should also evolve beautifully over the next fifteen years.
