Marjorie Vineyard consists of the Cristom Vineyards oldest platings of Pinot Noir, which predate the company back to 1982. The vineyard is distinctive at Cristom both for being own-rooted, and for its lower-density plantings, with 6 feet between vines and 12 feet between rows that result in very small, highly concentrated clusters. The 2017 is simply stunning, as it opens with wonderful aromatics of teaberry, raspberry and shades of wet stone that all build on the nose. It possesses a gorgeous texture, with remarkable freshness and concentration as flavors of red and dark fruits are woven into minerals and peat moss that presist through the finish. This is a drop-dead stunning Pinot Noir that is outstanding today, tand should also have a bright future ahead.
