The 2018 'Earth' Pinot Noir is an absolutely fabulous release from Big Table Farm. This is a limited bottling, which represents just 5% of their production. It begins to impress with its beautiful aromatics, releasing nuances of ripe black cherries, boysenberry, cranberry and blood orange, that combine with spring flowers, sassafras, wild herbs and damp earth which all take shape beautifully. The palate is quite dense, however it remains bright and vivid, as it showcases its flavors of ripe black fruits, sweet red berries spices and cola beneath the supple texture. It continues to impress with its remarkable combination of acidity and minerality, leading up to the ripe and vibrant finish. This is a simply gorgeous Pinot Noir that could benefit from a few more years of bottle age before it begins to hit its stride, and flourish beautifully over time.
