ROSEROCK Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity ‘Zephirine’ 2018

This barrel selection cuvée from Domaine Drouhin’s Roserock Vineyard represents the best barrels from this vintage and it shows. The complex and interesting nose opens with stunning aromas of red cherry, red currant, plum skin, dusty country road, tangerine pith, hoisin sauce, oyster mushroom and toasted baking spices. Medium plus acidity, plush tannins and a medium to full body carry the wine on the palate along with additional savory components of ground white pepper and some meaty characteristics. This wine is just as wonderful as the sister wine from Drouhin, the ‘Laurène’ but I love them both. It has what it takes to age for another decade or more. Highly recommended.
