An absolutely stunning wine from wine maker Jesse Lange that is probably the most interesting, and quite possibly my favorite wine that I have tasted from Lange. The nose is intense and leaps from the glass - think notes of baked blueberry pie, blackberry liqueur, Christmas spices, orange peel and purple wild flowers. On the palate you get both blue and black fruit flavors alongside the savory components of old leather and brown dried mushroom. It’s a complex, interesting wine that I can’t wait to try 5-6 years from now to see how it develops in the bottle. I imagine that the tertiary components will evolve quickly from what I’m getting on the nose, but don’t let that stop you from buying a few bottles and enjoying them over the next decade. It’s a gorgeous Oregon Pinot Noir. Only 240 cases produced. Highly recommended.
