An eye-popping medium-neon-ruby core that spreads to a neon pink rim, the 2019 Sojeau Pinot Noir is aged for 18 months in about 15% new French oak barrels. As with most all of the Evesham Wood wines, you need to give this some time to come together in the bottle. Lovely notes of wild huckleberry, red plum, blood orange flesh, pencil shavings, dried violet, fresh mint, wet tilled earth, and a touch of sweet baking spices combine with elevated acidity, crunchy tannins, and a spicy and lengthy finish. Better in 2023. A small production of 75 cases were made.
