The 2018 Carter Vineyard from Tendril was aged for a full 17 months in 75% new French oak focusing on a dark-ruby core in the glass, while yielding complex notes of mulled cherries, macerated strawberry, purple wildflower, white pepper, and cedary herbs. Resting in the medium-bodied range, it gives crunchy tannins, a balanced mouthfeel, high levels of acidity, and a red-fruit-focused finish. Only a small lot of 100 cases were produced. Enjoy bottles over the next 6-8 years.
