HAZELFERN Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley ‘Prime Cut’ 2019

The Hazelfern Prime Cut comes from a selection of the best barrels from winemakers Bryan and Laura Lainge, with fruit from four different vineyards. Aged for 15 months in 35% new French oak, it boasts a sensational nose of candied red cherry, spiced blueberry, cedary herbs, dusty country road, grounded white peppercorn, and dried violet flower. It’s fresh, lean, structured, yet complex on the palate and delivers silky tannins and scrumptious acidity with the red-fruit-focused finish. 150 cases produced. This should drink well for the next 15 years. Highly recommended.
