Own-rooted vines planted in 1971, 1974, and 1989 produce the fruit for the Old Vine Estates Pinot Noir from Hyland. 25% new French oak barrels are used for 10 months of aging. A medium ruby core with a neon magenta rim, it’s very floral on the nose with a lovely red rose characteristic alongside notes of red cherry, mountain strawberry, forest breeze, licorice root, pink peppercorn, and a hint of cedary herbs. Subtle but present tannins, mouthwatering acidity, and a long finish complete the wine. Drink this now or over the next 8 years. 4600 cases were made.
