Superb Chardonnay fruit that was planted own-rooted in 1979, is aged for 10 months in 30% new French oak barrels. Lemon-gold colored in the glass with a silvery rim, it pops with notes of crushed volcanic stone, grilled citrus, dried peach, kiwi fruit, flint, vanilla bean, and white wildflower. Acidity is balanced, and on the high side, the body is medium to full, and it delivers a rounded, balanced texture across the mid-palate that I absolutely adore. Drink this one now or over the next 8 years. This reductive and seductive style of Chardonnay from the Willamette Valley is what I enjoy the most. Just 250 cases were made.
