Checking in at 50% new French oak during aging, this Pommard clone Pinot Noir from the Greenwood Vineyard it’s a much richer, darker wine than the 2019 siblings. Dark ruby-purple in the glass, aromas of fresh blackberry pie, blue plum, fresh tar, Christmas spices, and powdered chocolate pop from the glass. Tertiary flavors of tilled earth, cedary herbs, old leather, and a hint of cigar ash are present on the palate. Tannins are still on the elevated side, but the earth, spice, and dark fruit aspects of the wine help create a nice rounded finish. Only 150 cases were made.
