The scintillating 2019 Aequorin Chardonnay from winemaker Maggie Harrison can be described in one word - phenomenal. It is aged for 18 months in 27% new French oak barrels. Starting a bit shy on the nose with delicate aromas of lemon peel, white peach, slivered almonds, white pepper, and white grapefruit pith, it evolves in a stealthy fashion to unleash the mind-blowing palate that brings some interesting spice and earthiness to the wine. Wonderfully balanced with a lush and round mouthfeel, and perfect levels of acidity, this Chardonnay is a dead-ringer for a Grand Cru Burgundy. Age this one for the next 12 years or more and enjoy! Just 144 cases made. Highly recommended.
