BIG TABLE FARM Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 2020

BTF did something interesting for their 2020 Pinot Noir. They took lees off of the 2019 vintage, racked the 2020 off the lees, and dumped the 2019 lees into the 2020s, which helped with the aromatics and eliminated some of the smoke taint. The nose is clean and fresh but a tad muted with notes of red and black cherry, black peppercorn, lilac flower, and a bit of cigar ash that you can feel on the back palate. With the medium acidity, it finds itself a touch flat on the finish; however, tannins are integrated but present. A great effort for an incredibly difficult vintage. 2200 cases were made. Drink now
