ERATH Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 'Estate Selection' 2013

Dick Erath founded this winery in the Dundee Hills 40 years ago. This wine, aged 13 months in 40% new French oak, comes from the best blocks of wine of the vintage, as they've utilized Jory and Nekia soils. They selected primarily from the Waldo Hills vineyard (56%) but also 24% from Battle Creek vineyard, 9% from Dion vineyard, 4% from Niederberger vineyard, 4% from Doerner vineyard and 3% from Hyland vineyard. There are aromas of forest floor, red currant, dill and red cherry in a wide range of aromatics. This leads to flavors of spicebox, crimini mushroom, red cherry, prune and pomegranate. Very solid bottling. (Best 2016-2027) - February, 2016 (OB)
