DOMAINE SERENE Chardonnay, Clos du Soleil Vineyard 2013

This Chardonnay is sourced from the east facing slope of the Evenstad Estate. Another stunner in the Domaine Serene lineup of Chardonnays. This was aged 14 months in 35% new French oak before bottling. Picked before the huge rains of the 2013 harvest, the bright Chardonnay opens with aromas of Meyer lemon, cantaloupe, cut grass and green papaya. This is a vibrant wine with rich flavors of hazelnut, Pazazz apple, and brioche toast with a long and lingering finish. While this is far from inexpensive, the weight, minerality, intensity and viscosity is a memorable combination.(Best 2016-2025) - February, 2016 (OB)
