The 2012 Domaine Serene 'Two Barns' Pinot Noir is a serious offering. The wine was aged 17 months in 60% new French oak prior to bottling. This opens up with aromatics of red raspberry, lavender, with suggestions of black truffle oil and cola. In the glass there are dense flavors reminiscent of cran-pomegranate, tangerine orange rind, forest floor and black cherry. Lovely weight and structure to this beautiful bottling. Be sure to give this at least an hour in the decanter prior to savoring. (Best 2016-2026) - February, 2016 (OB)
