Talisman's Red Dog Pinot is one of the most complex and concentrated in their 2017 lineup. The vineyard is located on the higher portion of Sonoma Mountain above the Bennett Valley. It begins with aromas of red currants, strawberries and dark cherries laced with spices, fresh cut flowers, blood orange, and hints of fresh herbs which all come together beautifully. The palate is medium-bodied and beautifully balanced with a lovely combination of fresh fruit and acidity. It displays excellent focus with incredible elegance that persists through the graceful finish. While this is a pleasure to drink today, it should be even more impressive with another year or two of bottle age.
