The 2016 is a wonderful showing from Pellet Estate that begins with inviting aromas of ripe dark cherries and crème di cassis which are woven together with pencil lead, savory herbs, flowers, spices and sweet oak nuances that round out the nose. On the palate this is medium to full-bodied, with soft round tannins and a gorgeous plush mouthfeel that expands effortlessly into the gorgeous velvety finish. This is excellent today, and should go on to evolve beautifully over the course of the next decade.
