The 2013 is a gorgeous Chardonnay which comes from the "Sand Hill" part of the Durrell Vineyard, looking down on the Sonoma Valley. The soil is Goulding clay loam, mixed with diatomaceous earth and the lively mineral character it offers reflects in the wine. This 100% Wente Clone Chardonnay offers aromas of mushroom, crème brûlée and bananas foster. On the palate there are lovely flavors of golden delicious apple, banana, mushroom and poached pear which resonate through this dense, layered Chardonnay.
