ST. INNOCENT
Pinot Noir, Justice Vineyard 2015

Located in an east-facing ridge in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, the Justice Vineyard benefits from the cooling influence of coastal winds blowing through the Van Duzer corridor. The de-stemmed grapes were fermented in a small Burgundy oak fermenter (no SO2) allowing the fermentation to proceed naturally. The wine was then aged in French oak barrels, 28% of which were new, for 16 months, without fining. This results in a beautiful Pinot Noir, which starts off with aromatics reminiscent of black truffle crudo, loganberry liquor and suggestions of bing cherry. The palate has wonderful tension as the wine reveals orange rind, red cherries candy and suggestions of pomegranate seed flavors which linger through the finish. (Best 2018-2028)

ST. INNOCENT
Pinot Noir, Momtazi Vineyard 2015

The Momtazi Vineyard is biodynamically farmed and is located in the McMinnville AVA, 7 miles west of the McMinnville, Oregon. Planted in 1999 and 2004 on thin, poor soils, the vines have a south and SW exposure at an elevation of 680' - 760'. Needing a bit of air contact to unwind, this slowly begins to release aromatics of red cherries, pomegranate seed and orange rind. The mouthfeel and texture to this wine is gorgeous as precise flavors of red currants, red cherry, peat moss and cranberries persist through the long, fruit driven finish. (Best 2018-2028)

ST. INNOCENT
Pinot Noir, Shea Vineyard 2015

Sourced from the esteemed Shea Vineyard, this Pinot Noir comes from two blocks. Block 6, which faces SE on a hillside of shallow sedimentary soil at an eleavtion of 450' to 500', and is planted with Pommard and 115, and the Terrace Block which is a steep SW slope planted in 2002 with Pommard clone. The result is a brilliant Pinot Noir which shows off a beautiful combination of red and black fruits on the nose with a touch of spicebox. Elegant and seductive, this knockout Pinot delivers gorgeous flavors of black plums, black truffle, black cherry liquor and a touch of forest floor. The range and intensity of this wine is top shelf. Overall, this is a sensational Pinot Noir which should evolve beautifully over the course of the next decade. (Best 2018-2028)

ST. INNOCENT
Pinot Noir, Temperance Hill Vineyard 2015

The 2015 Temperance Hill Vineyard is the coolest of St. Innocent's seven sites and ripens the latest. The wine was de-stemmed and fermented in small stainless steel fermenters (no SO2) and aged in French oak barrels, 21% of which were new, for 16 months before bottling. The result is a translucent colored Pinot Noir opens with a bouquet of cranberries, cherries, pomegranate, with nuances of baking spices. There is a lovely combination of astringency and red fruit flavors on the mid-palate which is nicely balanced as it finishes long with red fruit flavors lingering. (Best 2018-2028)

ST. INNOCENT
Pinot Noir, Zenith Vineyard 2016

The 2016 'Villages Cuvèe' Pinot Noir is a lovely showing from St. Innocent. This Cuvèe is composed primarily from the Vitae Springs Vineyard, a cool site on thin volcanic soil located in the hills south of Salem, Oregon with Fruit from other sites completing the blend. As this begins to open it releases aromatics of citrus blossom and red currant aromatics hit you immediately. The mouthfeel is soft and supple, as the red fruits dominate the palate alongside some lighter citrus tones. This is an outstanding effort as an to open St. Innocent's stellar lineup of Pinot Noir. (Best 2018-2024)
