FORCE MAJEURE Cabernet Sauvignon, Walla Walla Valley ‘Estate’ 2021

Get ready to be blown away by the 2021 Walla Walla Estate Cabernet Sauvignon from Force Majeure and master winemaker Todd Alexander. A stunning blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot sports a dense purple-plum core with a neon purple rim. This is a complex wine that is quite a bit different than its Red Mountain counterpart but nonetheless just as perfect. Boisterous notes of black plum, crushed blackberries, cassis, new leather, red-earth, dried violet, and lavender petals absolutely take over the nose. This carries to a potent, focused, raucous backbone with a great mid-palate, with layered chalky tannins and mouthwatering acidity that creates the perfect length. Give this 2-3 years before enjoying, and then get ready for a master class in winemaking over the next 2 decades. Highly recommended and editor’s choice.
