Resting in about 75% new French oak for 22 months, the 2021 Walla Walla Estate Cabernet from Force Majeure is another masterclass in winemaking. With a blend of 95% Cabernet and 5% Merlot, it offers up boisterous notes of spiced dark fruits, Chinese 5 spice, dried lavender and rose petals, red-tinted clay, and sweet tobacco leaf. Crunchy tannins, aggressive acidity, and a full-bodied finish help complete this near-perfect wine. About 225 cases were produced.
