This outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the renowned F-Block within the legendary Beckstoffer Georges III vineyard. The vineyard consists of soils composed of primarily sandy loam, with a fair amount of rock from the old creek bed that runs through. The wine itself begins with inviting aromas of black cherries and red currants, which come together with sweet spices, florals, dusty minerals, vanilla bean, sage and hints of graphite. On the palate this is medium to full-bodied, with red and dark fruits mingling with spices and herbs. It continues to impress as it displays wonderful overall balance with lovely underlying acidity keeping it light on its feet through the finish. While certainly accessible now, I expect this will continue to age beautifully over the course of the next decade.
